Sewing with felt is so very easy that it is perfect for projects with your kids.
If you are like me, you have a stash of crafting felt left from a project or perhaps handed down from a really good friend who moved away to far northern reaches of the country (but I am almost over that, I think).
Felt is so forgiving that you can draw out the basic shapes you will need on the felt with chalk and then cut with child’s scissors. When the kids were younger they hand-sewed (having learned from and incredibly patient Gma and two wonderful Aunts), but now both my kids regularly use the sewing machine.
If you don’t have enough polyester stuffing, you can stuff your kids’ sewing creatures with fabric scraps or clothing they have grown out of. For those of us who homeschool, avoiding a trip to the store to spend money is always a cause for celebration as it means we have more funds to spend on curriculum and books!
And this is how ‘Spidey’ came to live in our house…
