What Are Friday Funnies, Flops, and Fails?
These are the misadventures of a homeschooling week. The bad, the ugly, and the downright funny.
Why Are You Sharing Your Homeschool Fails?
I am reviewing a class for homeschooling parents from Only Passionate Curiosity. One of the things mentioned in the course is that everyone uses social media to promote the good in their homeschool. Everyone’s house (on Facebook and Pinterest and Twitter) is fully manicured, their children always on best behavior, lessons completed on time with extra wonderful activities showing how extraordinarily creative they all are. But imagine the reaction if you are a mom who cannot seem to recreate that wonderful homeschooling world that lives in social media.
If you are a normal homeschooling mom (which nearly all of us are) then you have fails. And you have weeks that flop. And some of these are definitely funny!
So, why not share them? My goal with Friday Flops, Funnies, and Fails is to help all of us feel a bit better about our not-so-good weeks and laugh a little together.
Isn’t that a great way to end a week?
How do you participate?
Link Up below. Your post doesn’t have to be an essay with references. Just describeyour homeschool flop or fail or funny in a sentence or two (or more if you are feeling prolific).
Or, you could just add your flop or funny or fail into the comments section of this post.
I will put up a new Friday Flops, Funnies, and Fails each Thursday and leave the linky open for a week so you all can add to it when you have the time.
Here is My Bit For The Week:
My flop. This week we did absolutely no math, or language study. Why? Because that is on the schedule for the morning and it was so hot this week that no one got to bed early enough to wake up for the morning lessons. And, you know, a schedule is just an opportunity for me to grab a reason to put something off with both hands and hang on for dear life!
My fail was that school pretty much went out the window completely the last couple of days as the Hub was flat on his back with a nerve issue in his hip and I was busy hoping and praying that it wasn’t anything more…
My funny. The cats decided they hated that I rearranged the homeschool shelves and the dining room and living room to make it easier for the Hub to totter through the house. So yesterday one pooped on the kitchen mat and I stepped right in it when I went to do dishes and the other came up for a pet, turned and sprayed me…and don’t even get me started on how behind on the laundry I am this week! (but honestly the laundry part is not really unusual)

Oh dear I can sympathize with your funny about the cats! Our cats get all perturbed if their favorite haunts are inaccessible. They also believe that they will get fed every time I go to the coffee maker, because their food dishes are right close by. LOL
by the way, the button code didn’t work for me – just gave me the link and not the graphic, but I will fiddle with it later and see if it’s something I did wrong
Thank you for joining in! Did the button work in the end? This is my first time at it, so please excuse any issues.
I love your story about the cats and the coffee maker… they are such different creatures!
