Does the thought of transitioning your life to homeschool high school make you shake in your shoes?
It sure did for me. I stressed about it for months and months. I read blog post after blog post and bought books and more books. My poor husband grew so tired of hearing about the plans and various options, that he declared a moratorium on the topic.
Then we started 9th grade in our homeschool and I discovered that I had stressed all those months for nothing.
Homeschooling high school is not really any different from homeschooling middle school. The students are the same. You already know what they like and what is a struggle for them. You know how to keep their attention and when to take a break.
The only real difference in the high school years is that you have to keep records more carefully.
If you are like me, you stress about giving your children all the possible opportunities there are on God’s green earth, just in case Johnny should decide to be an Engineer, or Julie should wish to become a world-class chef. You have invested decades of your life to these children and their education and upbringing and you want it to be perfect.
But, in reality perfect is you doing the best you can to listen to your kids and love them with your whole heart.
Don’t stress about things like being ready to homeschool high school, or even getting into college. If you keep your faith right there out in front of you, everything will work out just fine. It always does. Even if it doesn’t work out the way you thought it would, it always does. Always.
