Leaving Is A Place To Start

I have been working through a Mom’s Book of Thanks, devotional prayer journal for moms for the month of November from Heather Bowen. The first few days were hard, but once I got in the swing of it and realized I could coordinate with the daily Bible reading schedule I use. This is kind of a long-winded way of coming to the title of this post.Leaving is a place to start

Leaving is a place to start.

What does that mean to you? It is one of the lessons of Hebrews 4 and it really jumped out and grabbed me. All my life I thought of leaving as possibly the worst thing that could happen. Being left is not something new to me.

But then this morning as I read the verse in the early morning, God’s light shining through the curtains in my morning room, I realized that leaving really can be a great thing. Leaving behind evil and heading towards light really is a good place to start. Leaving can be healing and positive. And so as we approach Thanksgiving, I think I will focus on leaving as a place to start. And that gives me hope.

That pretty well summed up our week. All of us left this week in our own way, together, each in their own way, and with our whole combined hearts and souls. And that is an amazing place to start.

Books I am reading these days

I read for fun, but also to try to keep up with what my kids are learning. This last part feels like a race I can never win sometimes, but I suppose trying is what being a homeschool mom is mostly all about.
