Live View of NASA Flying Saucer

Ok, the science geek in me is really, really excited. The same kind of excited I used to be as a kid the night before a field trip to the Steinhart Aquarium (I was certain I would grow up to be a marine biologist when I was ten).

Tomorrow NASA will launch a test flight of their “Flying Saucer” – that sounds cool and exciting just by itself but wait, there is more! They are really testing a ginormous parachute (the largest ever at a diameter of 100 feet) that will slow a payload from supersonic speeds to land gently in the ocean (simulating a human-filled payload landing on Mars). Here is the link: http://www.nasa.gov/jpl/ldsd/you-get-to-watch-it-live-nasas-flying-saucer-test and you can watch it at 1:30pm EST!

Yeah Science!
