Fun is important when you homeschool. You are with your kids 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If you can have fun and enjoy your shared life, any drudgery that may settle, in disappears in a poof of smoke in the face of your child’s grin.
My kids and I recently ran across a fun series of math videos by Numberphile. One in particular struck us as worth sharing. ‘What do 5, 13, and 563 have in common,’ introduces concepts like a math theorem and how to test a supposition, while having a rollicking good time (as far as us math geeks are concerned).
Have a fun time with your kids today. Learn together and enjoy each other. The anticipation of a good day with my kids is what gets me out of bed early in the morning. Stumbling to the coffee pot before my eyes are able to open, I think of what fun we will have today.
