This is the time of year that I am reminded who is the only one for me.
The only one for me.
All the emotions that flooded through me on that trip to the hospital, fear, apprehension, excitement, joy, and did I mention fear? Everything melted away in that moment when my doctor said, “Let me see here. . . hello! Nice to meet you little one! Let me introduce you to your mom and dad.” I knew then that she was the only one for me.
The first team of nurse, pediatrician, and support staff got to work bundling and checking my new daughter, and my doctor and his back-up surgeon got back to work.
“Hmm. . . Let me see here. I knew there was a second one, but where is he? Oh, yes. There you are! Trying to hide? Come on out and meet your mom and dad.”
And so as my doctor held up my beautiful baby boy, I once again knew that he was the only one for me.
Can you have many ‘only ones’? Absolutely and that life-changing day, so many years ago, I gained two only ones.
A Song That Really Sums Up The Past Week. You’re the Only One for Me.
